L'amour est un Fleuve en Russie (Spermula)

L'amour est un Fleuve en Russie (Spermula)
Director: Charles Matton, 1976.
France, 103 Minutes.
French with English subtitles.

Presented here is the original French language version of a film better known as Spermula, a sci-fi exploitation film dubbed into English with significant changes in plot and dialog to market the film as a cheap comedy and skin-flick. In it's original version, we see a film still centered on shapeless aliens come to Earth circa the mid-1930's in the guise of beautiful aristocratic women cloistered in their chateau with the aim of conquering the planet by exploiting humanity's more base desires. Featuring Udo Kier, L'amour is a dreamy science fiction film moving lightly from scene to scene as surely one of the most original tellings of alien conquest to date.
