Chong (Lewd Lizard)

Chong (Lewd Lizard)
Director: Norman Chu, 1985.
China, 85 minutes.
Cantonese with English subtitles.

How do you describe a Chong (aka Lewd Lizard) other than a mad scientist tale loaded with love, loss, revenge, and bunch of vicious lizards out to kill? Others have tried, but that might just be it. This monstrosity from the shores of Hong Kong features a ludicrous plot centered on a man's search for revenge on the woman who betrayed him and all other women who might do the same. A classic story of a lover scorned, now with 500% more sex-crazed, genetically-modified, murderous lizards, soap opera melodramatics, and a sprinkle of kung fu.

Not the most shocking Hong Kong exploitation feature to make it stateside, but definitely an original.
