A roiling story of a deceitful wife after her husband’s millions, Impact has all the classic building blocks of a film noir: insidious plotting, car crashes, seedy hotels, true romance, and lots of over-acting. Beautifully filmed on location in late 1940’s San Francisco, the film features famed actress Anna May Wong in a vastly underutilized supporting role. Interestingly, Impact also features a large amount of product placement — a huge rarity for the time.
